Scholarship Opportunity: Family Recovery Program

The Chris Atwood Foundation is offering special pay-what-you-can scholarships for residents of Virginia for the BALM, an online family recovery education program.The BALM family recovery program is a three-part method and comprehensive online program through which family members are empowered to become crucial supporters of recovery in the home and find greater joy and peace for themselves in the process. “BALM” is the acronym for Be A Loving Mirror, the signature program of Family Recovery Resources. The year long subscription for up to four family members includes online classes led by trained family recovery coaches, access to hundreds of hours of talks by experts in the addiction field, twice weekly live BALM calls, group coaching, and written materials.

1. INFORMATION ~ THE DAILY BALM COURSE
Weekly Recorded Lessons on the BALM Family Recovery Principles
Over 100 Recorded webinars to be watched at your convenience, including: interviews with experts and individuals/family members in recovery, and interactive discussions with BALM members and coaches.
Workbook and PowerPoint for each lesson
Weekly Live Calls every Wednesday evening featuring a panel of family recovery coaches. These calls include discussions, speakers, and expert interviews. As a class participant, you are encouraged to join in! Afterward, the recording will be posted online for you to enjoy.
2. TRANSFORMATION ~ 7 STEPS TO BALM
Learn to hold "BALM" conversations:
A mini-intervention you can have with your loved one.
A 7 step process that transforms conversations and turns chaos to sanity.
During class you will:
learn the steps of the method
study processes to help with implementation
practice what you are learning with a partner
In between classes, you will:
work with a buddy on the phone
practice with clients, family and/or friends
3. SUPPORT ~ WEEKLY GROUP COACHING CALL
Weekly opportunity to work with a coach in a group setting. Each week, participants bring current issues they would like to approach using the BALM method. The coach introduces tools, exercises, and insights to provide BALM families additional opportunities to grow their family recovery
